The Last Couple Weeks...

I've been meaning to post some of this stuff for over week, so now I am finally getting around to it. Last weekend we went to Utah for our newest niece's baby blessing. She is a precious little thing and we are glad that we could be there for that. Thanks Mandy and Mark for having us. On the way down to West Jordan we stopped in Salt Lake to walk around Temple Square for a little while...

Macie and I were so ready to get out of that car! And she LOVED being outside for the little while that it wasn't raining...Perfect timing.

Macie with her Daddy.

I didn't remember how many fountains they have there. Macie got so excited at every one, but especially at this one:)
The weekend before last we went down to Salt Lake (yes, two weeks in a row) for the Supercross races. We were able to stop and see my sister Mandy and her family for a while, then met up with the Johnsons for dinner and the races. We had a lot of fun, especially Reed. I think he was smiling the entire time:) Macie was again a trooper and actually enjoyed herself until she fell asleep in the Main Event. She would get so excited when all the riders would rev their engines just before the races began. I think it rained all day long until just before the supercross started. Reed thinks it was Divine intervention;) I was just happy I didn't have to spend all night in the car with Macie.
I told you he was happy.

It was still a little cold after dark. That is the reason for the snowsuit. We decided that it was probably better that it was cold and wet that day because I think all of the girls we saw there were fully dressed, NICE.

Me and sleeping Macie, & Kyle and Katie.
Here are just a few pictures I thought were cute of our little girl at home...
She loves to sit at the door and look outside. She also LOVES to get the shoes that are by the door. But mostly when her dad's big dirty work boots are there, those are her FAVORITE!
I always feel bad when this happens.

Reed and Macie watching a show together.

I just though this was cute because she kept touching his face...Melted his little heart:)

SuNsHiNe...

It has been SO nice to finally have some warm weather and sunshine! We have loved being able to go do things outside, especially Macie! When she's not outside she loves to looks out the windows, and gets upset when we walk away. When she does get to be outside she loves watching the birds, and hearing the cars drive by. But her favorite thing to do outside is try to eat whatever she can get her hands on! Some of her favorites: grass, dead leaves and cement chips! I've learned that I can't leave her alone if she's on the ground, she's too quick! It's so nice to just be outside though. The three of us have gone on lots of walks, played Frisbee golf and other yard games, and planted the garden, and cleaned up the lawn. I'm so glad we got outside when we could because I just looked at the forecast and..................rain and snow for the next five days!!! I hope they're wrong. On a happier note, our little girl has grown up SO much in the last couple weeks, but especially in the last week! She can now army crawl, crawl on her hands and knees, sit up really easily from her belly, pull herself up on things (mainly the crib), wave when she wants, and give fives. She loves to run her fingers through her hair when she is tired or eating(milk, that is). When she gets mad at me the first thing she does is reach up for her bow and pull it out! It's so funny, but kind of frustrating sometimes, I think that's why she does it. She also says MaMaMaMa a lot, but she doesn't know what she's saying because she says that for everything, but still:) She also LOVES her daddy and gets so excited when he walks in the door from work. It's almost impossible for me to feed her before bed because every five seconds she has to pull away and look around the room to see what Dad is doing. It's so fun to see her grow and learn. We love being parents and are SO lucky to have her and each other! Here's a couple pictures from the last few days...

I have to watch her like a hawk when we play on the blanket outside. I turn around for a second and she dives to the edge of the blanket and shoves a dead leaf in her mouth! I guess there's worse things:)

This morning I was making Reed's lunch and I hear a THUD. I thought Macie had pulled herself up on something and fallen, but when I didn't hear any whining I peeked in on her. She had pushed over the paper shredder and was already eating her spoils. It made me laugh. Speaking of eating things, last week I found stickers and a piece of tape in her diaper! So this week I've had to keep my floors spotless, vacuuming at least once a day! Everyone told me she'd be into everything now that she is starting to crawl, and I think I am only starting to see what they mean. Time to really child-proof my house!

Learning to Scootch

JuSt SoMe PiCtUrEs...

I planned on having different posts for a lot of these pictures, but I put it off, and now that will take too much time. So I'm just going to put on some pictures of different things during the last week or so...

Macie's first Easter egg hunt, she is so excited!

We had to move all the eggs together because she couldn't pick which one to go to. And when she finally got to them I had to take them away because her slobber was making the dye go everywhere. So I switched them for plastic eggs, but she knew those weren't as cool.

Reed had to help Macie find her basket:)

Me and my chubby little cutie.

She played with her Easter basket the rest of the day...until she got stuck in it!

The other day I was doing the dishes and I came in and found Macie wedged under the couch playing with magazines. She only knows how to maneuver that well when I am out of the room!

Doesn't she look so grown up all of a sudden?!

Last week our ward had a party at the rollerskating rink. I don't know who was having more fun, Reed or Macie. I think Macie was actually probably better than me at the whole skating thing. I hadn't been since middle school, so I was a little rusty:)

Macie loved her sweet glow necklace and bracelet!

Standing up

Maice has learned how to pull herself up if she is already on her knees or bum. So she thinks she is SO BIG when she stands in her crib all by herself...

bEd HeAd...

Since Macie has so much hair, she already wakes up with pretty bad bed head. Reed always asks her if she's been "fighting tigers." Here's a couple mornings we caught on camera. I wish I looked this cute with my own bed head:)

I think she's still half asleep in this one:)

The BIG CHEESE...

Last week I purchased a 40 lb block of cheese to cut up and freeze...Cheese food storage, right? I understand that sounds a little crazy but it was really cheap so thought I'd just cut it up and vacuum package it, easy enough. Well, What was I THINKING??!! Do you know how difficult it is to cut an enormous brick of cheese? It's hard...anyway, it was for me. I started at around 11:30 a.m. and finally got done just after 5:00 p.m. So, at least I spent my whole day hacking at this huge cheese. It's actually sounding kind of funny now that it's over, but when I was in the middle of my troubles it was NOT FUNNY! But I managed to keep in all those naughty words I was thinking and didn't even cry once. But I did finally finish, and the spoils...I don't have to pick up cheese at Winco for a year. What was I thinking?

Nice hack job right?

About 1/3 of the way done. I wanted to cry, so I took pictures instead:)
All done...thank heavens!

Little Miss Independent...Already!

Macie loves learning how to do new things by HERSELF. It's fun to watch her grow and figure things out, but I just can't believe how fast her baby stage is slipping away. Here are some pictures of a few of the things that our little girl likes doing lately...

She LOVES playing with Daddy! She gets so excited to see him in the morning and when he comes home from work.

Macie loves to eat! She especially loves anything her parents are eating. This is her eating the apple she stole from me. She refused to give it back after I gave in and gave her a taste. I think she hung on to it for a good two hours! I really can't complain though...she eats anything we give her now, she loves it all! I have to ration her food because she will never quit eating until it's all gone...sound familiar?:) Yes, I think she takes after her MOM.

She's also discovered emptying her laundry basket! So now I just put toys in it and let her take them all out. This is a new favorite.

I think I left her to play for a little too long...she just turned around and went to sleep.

Picking up cheerios will usually keep her entertained for quite a while. Sometimes she can't quite get it between her thumb and finger, and she'll balance it on top of her finger until she gets it to her mouth. That's my favorite, she has to concentrate pretty hard to do that. But I am amazed lately at how fast those cheerios disappear...I have to really keep 'em coming!

And last of all, Macie loves to sit on the ground and play with her toys!

"It won't be like this for long..."

For the last week or so Macie has been a little bit of a handful at night. She would cry and cry, and she just wanted her parents. She wanted us to hold her and play with her in the middle of the night! She just got over a bad cold and she had been sleeping in the same bed as Reed and I while we were on our trip. So I think she just needs to get back to her normal routine. Anyway, the last few days I was stressing a little thinking that she was never going to sleep well again. I just kept praying, "Please let her sleep for just a few hours straight. Please help her go back to sleep..." But yesterday when I was on my way home from Winco I heard a song on the radio that felt like an answer to my prayers. I've heard it before, but this time I really listened. (It's the first song on my play list, so when you are done reading this, you should listen to it) I realized that she is only a baby for such a short time, and I need to Cherish it. I need to enjoy those moments I get to hold her and play with her and rock her to sleep because "it won't be like this for long." So last night I fed her and put her to bed. She started to cry and cry, so after a while I got her out of bed and she came and played with me and Reed for a while. She was being so cute and happy, and we loved spending that time together. When I noticed that it was 10:00 I put her back in her bed and she didn't make a peep, she just fell right to sleep. And she did MUCH better during the night. I also put another song on my play list that's called Let Them be Little, so you should listen to that one too:)
