Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas this year.  It was pretty low-key, but that's how we like it.  One Christmas Eve we went to my parents house in Basalt(Firth).  We had a family party with homemade soup and rolls, thanks
Mom, and lots of TREATS.  We ate, played a game, and opened presents.  It was so fun to see everyone.

On Christmas day we woke up and opened presents with the kids.  It was fun to watch Macie, because she was so excited.  After that we headed to Reed's Parents house in Idaho Falls.  We had a delicious breakfast of potato casserole, ham and smoothies. Then Reed's brother Troy called, he's on his Mission, and we were able to talk to him for a while.  And then we got to open presents from each other.  Again, it was so nice just to be with family.

After that our little family just stayed there and hung out for most of the day.  Branson had a rough night Christmas Eve, so we were both pretty tired.  So the kids and I took a nap that lasted about 3 hours!!  Here are some pictures from Christmas morning at our house........

Trip to Salt Lake

In mid December we were able to take a little trip to Salt Lake. It was only for a few days, but it was much needed! We were able to see my sister Karen and her husband Nic and their new house. And we were also able to see my sister Mandy, her husband Mark, and their little girls. I left my camera at the condo for all of that though. And my sister Mandy was so nice, and she watched our kids while Reed and I went to Hobby Lobby and out to lunch. By the way, if you've never been, that store is amazing! I'm not a big shopper, but I had saved up some money to decorate my home, and I found everything I could ever want there....and more! Love it! We also were able to eat dinner at the Lion House, which I had never done before, and go to Tucanos, which Reed and I LOVE! December was a really busy month for us, so it was a nice little trip to just get away and spend time together. Thanks Grandma!

Growing up.....

My baby boy is sitting up and crawling!! He loves being big, but I wish he'd just stay little! And I think Macie is leaving the toddler stage and turning into a little girl...you know, except for the potty training thing and the tantrums! :)

I realize that my photography practice is kinda taking over my blog, so Reed convinced me to make a photography blog. I know I'm not a professional, but I needed somewhere to put my photo shoots. This shoot, however, is of my kids. So I didn't feel bad posting it on the family blog. But in the future, feel free to check out www.juliedenningphotography.blogspot.com, also found on my sidebar :)

Thankful for......

The last few weeks my heart has been so full of thanks, and especially today. I have been blessed so much, and I know it all comes from my Father in Heaven. Last Sunday I taught a lesson on gratitude using President Monson's address from the October General Conference.(Found in the November Ensign, pg. 87) It's called "The Divine Gift of Gratitude", and it is Wonderful! Read it, and I'm sure you will be in the Thanksgiving mood. :) So in no particular order, I want to make a list of some of the things I am grateful for:

My amazing husband who is my very best friend. He is such a hard worker, but also loves to play. He is a great provider for our family, and takes care of us. He honors his priesthood and is a righteous leader for our family.

My little girl Macie. She has a mind of her own, but is so sweet. She is always telling me I look beautiful, and wants to do everything I am doing. I know that she loves me, and that makes me feel so lucky.

My baby boy Branson. I can't say it enough....He is such a good baby! He is so easy going, and so easy to get to smile. He is such a sweet heart, an his smile is so contagious. I am so thankful to be his Mommy!

My parents who have done so much for me. Thank you Mom and Dad, I love you! I am starting to realize all the sacrifice you went through to have our family.

Reed's parents who have accepted me as their own. People always joke about the dreaded in-laws, but I have never even thought anything like that with them. I love them and am so grateful for them in my lives.

Our grandparents. We have a lot of them and are so grateful for their examples. And a special thanks to Grandma Ruth, who has helped us so much, and is such a strong woman!

Our brothers and sisters and their spouses. I am so blessed with a whole bunch of people who are forced to be my friends. :) I am so thankful for the associations we have with you!

Our great friends. Since moving to Rigby we've made some new friends, but can never forget the ones we left in Idaho Falls. Good thing we didn't move very far! They are like family, and I am so thankful to have them in our lives!

Our HEALTH! We are so lucky to all have our health!

Ok, and this one is kinda materialistic.....my home! I love it! Reed worked so hard to find a nice one that we could afford, and has been working on it non-stop since we bought it. It is lovely, and I feel so lucky to live here.

While I'm on material things......our Furnice...cars...electricity...washer...dryer...dishwasher...big bathtub:)...clothing...and the Internet!

Most of all I am so grateful for my testimony of a Heavenly Father who loves me and has given me everything I have, and His Son Jesus Christ, who suffered and gave his life for me so that I could have the chance to return home to them with my family.
